Peace does not always look polite. Sometimes it looks like changing your mind, leaving the conversation, taking longer to respond, or admitting that something no longer works for you.
We spend so much time waiting for permission—to rest, to say no, to begin again, to disappoint people who benefited from our silence. But permission is not something you have to wait for. It is something you can give yourself.
Finding your peace does not mean avoiding every difficult feeling. It means creating enough quiet to hear what is true beneath the noise.
Ask yourself what keeps pulling you away from yourself. What are you carrying because you are afraid of how someone else will feel if you put it down?
Do what you need to return to yourself. Not recklessly. Not cruelly. Honestly.
Your peace is not a reward you earn after everyone else is comfortable. It is part of the life you are allowed to build.
