The holidays can make absence louder. Traditions hold memory, and memory can turn an ordinary room into a place where grief suddenly has a seat.

You are allowed to change the ritual. Skip the gathering. Make a new tradition. Keep one small thing and release the rest. Love is not measured by how faithfully you repeat what used to be.
